What are Autogiro direct debits and how do they work?

Autogiro is a payment scheme used in Sweden to collect payments in Swedish Kronas. It’s the Swedish equivalent of SEPA in the Eurozone. To initiate an Autogiro Direct Debit, explicit approval from customers is mandatory to ensure their consent to debit their accounts. Capchase establishes direct debit mandates with all payers in accordance with the Bankgirot standards through our processing partner, GoCardless.

Autogiro debits require an advanced notice of 8 business days to the client, which means the payment must be submitted 8 business days prior to the payment due date. This payment method exclusively supports funds withdrawal from Sweden-domiciled SEK bank accounts.
